State of the Art Opening

2009 September 26

DSCN0607

When Tony Iadicicco invited me to show with him in the first of many new venues in Schenectady’s lower State Street, I figured he saw something that no one else could.  Few people walk those parts any time of day, let alone in the evening for art.  I supported him as best I could by joining the one-nigh show, and prayed that at least 20 people would stumble upon us.

I don’t know how Tony pulled it off, but 150 came out for what he has titled State of the Art.  Located at 137 State Street, State of the Artwill be open on the third Friday of every month, featuring a variety of local artists.  The DSIC keeps their offices open on third Fridays, featuring a new artist as well.  As additional venues open, hopefully a run down part of town will makes its turn.
